I C You

What is happening right now is unprecedented times that will go into future history books. The title has many ways of interpretation just as the piece does. Reading it outloud, it sounds like ICU, the abbreviation for Intensive Care Unit. This relates to the worldwide pandemic, confining us to our houses and completely changing our daily lives. It is also how many people had to see their loved ones in the ICU, but only saw them through a glass window, creating a barrier between them. The title is also like the phrase, "I see you," where it connects to the Black Lives Matter movement, where we were all shown the injustices the Black community face, and how many have shown their solidarity with them. This time can be dark and many can fall into a despair, yet there are small joys one can experience if they are able to overcome it.
